Research
Research into the community’s needs is an important part of public health. By discovering the barriers and struggles that Asians encounter, AHSC can better fight health disparities and ensure that people have access to high-quality care.

Roadmap to the New Horizon: Linking Asians to Improved Health & Wellness
Through community-based Participatory Research, the project accessed the Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese communities in Multnomah and Washington counties. Participants were asked about how they maintain their health, their health beliefs and hurdles they encounter when accessing health care, among other topics. The project was a collaboration with Portland State University’s School of Community Health and was funded by the United Way.
